PrestaShop and BaseLinker integration

Store, marketplaces and couriers managed from one place. With a clear decision on which system owns stock, so you never sell the same item twice.

BaseLinker is an intermediate layer between the store, marketplaces and courier companies: it collects orders from many channels, lets you handle them in one panel and create shipments. PrestaShop connects to it through a ready-made integration, and the implementation comes down mainly to deciding who in this setup is responsible for stock levels.

When BaseLinker makes sense

  • You sell in your store and on marketplaces at the same time – Allegro, Amazon, eBay.
  • Order handling today means several browser tabs and retyping data by hand.
  • You need one place to create shipments with several carriers.
  • You have no ERP, or you have one whose marketplace integration would cost more than the subscription.

When I advise against it

When the company already runs an ERP that manages inventory and BaseLinker would do the same. Two systems each convinced they are the source of stock end up selling the last item twice. In that case either the ERP stays the source of truth and BaseLinker only handles the channels, or we drop the intermediary altogether and connect the ERP with the marketplaces directly.

What we agree before implementation

  • Who holds the stock. The store, the ERP or BaseLinker – one of them, not two.
  • Where the sales document is created and which system assigns the numbering.
  • How statuses and tracking numbers come back, so the customer gets a notification once, not three times.
  • What happens with reservations between placing an order and paying for it.
  • Mapping categories and parameters to each marketplace’s requirements.

Where the ready-made integration ends

The standard connection handles a typical store. Development work starts with the exceptions: custom order statuses, product bundles, selling by the metre and by the piece at the same time, documents issued in an external system or automation rules the panel doesn’t cover. BaseLinker has an API, so these cases can be handled – they just need to be named first.

Frequently asked questions

Can BaseLinker replace my ERP?

For retail sales without manufacturing or complex accounting – often yes. For a warehouse with batches, expiry dates or manufacturing – no, and then it acts as a sales layer on top of the system you already have.

Will stock update in time under heavy traffic?

When the last items sell fast, delay is always a risk. That is why fast-moving goods get a safety buffer instead of relying on the synchronisation to keep up.

We already have BaseLinker, but orders get lost. Can you help?

Yes. I start by following one order through all the systems and pointing out where the data diverges. Usually the problem is not BaseLinker itself but conflicting rules set up in two panels.

Tell me how many channels you sell on – I will tell you whether an intermediary is needed here or just adds another system to maintain.
